Tiger convinces Love to play Reed-Spieth in afternoon

CHASKA, Minn. – In the frenzied moments as the morning foursomes session was wrapping up on Saturday, U.S. captain Davis Love III was searching for the right combination to send out for the afternoon fourball session.

Each of Love’s vice captains had a lineup, the players certainly had ideas, and even Love’s son, Dru, offered a suggestion. But it was Tiger Woods who finally convinced Love.

“I finally just said to Tiger, ‘Are we playing them or are we sitting them?’ Love said. “He said, ‘No, you have to send them back out there, they are playing so well.
