Lombard records fourth top 15 finish of season at Tshwane Open

Those who saw Zander Lombard in the final of the 2014 British Amateur Championship won’t be surprised by his blistering start to this season.

Lombard was in contention to win the Tshwane Open before a poor back nine derailed his chances. He ended up finishing seventh as Charl Schwartzel claimed his 11th European Tour victory.

The 21-year-old is one of the stories of the season so far. He’s already had two top 5s and a top 15 in his other three starts. He began the 2015-2016 season with a fourth place finish in the Australian PGA Championship, before placing 12th in the BMW SA Open and then runner-up in the Joburg Open.
