Jason Day hits cruise control at BMW Championship and expands lead to six strokes

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Jason Day has to do a little more than show up here Sunday as the Australian will take a six-shot lead into the final round of the BMW Championship.

After feasting on Conway Farms Golf Club with a 36-hole-record 124, Day took it easy on the course and the field Saturday with a 2-under 69. He nonetheless left no doubt about who is in charge of this third FedEx Cup playoff event. Day stands at 20-under 193, six shots clear of Scott Piercy (67) and rookie Daniel Berger (70). Rory McIlroy (67) stands fourth at 13 under, followed by Rickie Fowler (66), Dustin Johnson (68) and Kevin Na (70) at 12 under.
