Hurley's father dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Billy Hurley’s father died Wednesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Loudoun County, Va., according to statement released Thursday by Hurley’s management company.

Willard “Bill” Hurley, Jr. was 61.

Billy Hurley held a news conference at the Quicken Loans National PGA Tour event two weeks ago to report that his father had been missing for more than a week. He asked the public for help in finding his father. Three days later, his father, from Leesburg, Va., was reported found in Texas after a citizen recognized him in a public library and notified police.
