PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Jim Furyk is “disappointed” to miss next week’s Presidents Cup because of a nagging wrist injury, but the veteran looks forward to taking on the role of assistant captain under Jay Haas.
Furyk withdrew from the BMW Championship because of the injury, and he skipped last week’s Tour Championship in the hopes of healing in time to tee it up in South Korea. The 45-year-old started to hit balls earlier this week, but the injury continued to flare up after each range session.
