Former Canadian college golfer killed by stolen vehicle

Grace Glofcheskie, a former University of Guelph golfer, died after being struck by a stolen vehicle in downtown Guelph, Ontario, early Sunday morning, according to a CBC News report.

According to investigators, the car thief made an attempt to escape a police spot check, struck Glofcheskie, fled the vehicle on foot and is still at large. Glofcheskie was left wounded and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Known for her love of golf, Glofcheskie, 24, played five seasons on the University of Guelph's women’s team, including three as captain. After she finished the spring season, Glofcheskie remained a mentor for her teammates, CBC News reported.
