NORTON, Mass. – Give the PGA Tour credit. It offers an exciting venue here at TPC Boston, site of this week’s Deutsche Bank Championship. Who cares if the course is not actually in – or even near – Boston, some 37 miles to the northeast? What else are they going to call it? TPC Providence (22 miles to the southwest)? Or worse yet, TPC Norton?
All that really counts is that this is a fun place for a shootout and makes for good TV theater, which is crucial when competing for eyeballs on Week 1 of college football season and with the final round set to air on Labor Day Monday.
