RIO DE JANEIRO – Birdie by birdie, Matt Kuchar’s goal on Sunday at the Olympics was to “wear the jacket.”
Kuchar attended a doubles tennis match earlier in the week where fellow Americans Steve Johnson and Jack Sock won a bronze medal. Kuchar was sitting in a players box when the winning duo jumped up there and started hugging anyone who was within striking distance.
They were happy because they got to “wear the jacket.”
Each member of Team USA was presented an outfit that was to be worn on the podium if he or she were to finish in the top three.
