OAKLAND -- Warriors center Anderson Varejao was assessed a Flagrant Foul 1 for tripping Portland's Gerald Henderson in Game 1 upon a review by the league office.
Varejao and Henderson were each whistled for technical fouls after the Trail Blazers guard got up off the floor for a brief confrontation.Portland coach Terry Stotts said Varejao made "a dirty play" in using the leg whip Sunday in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.Varejao and Henderson were eventually ejected later in the third quarter of the Warriors' win.Varejao is the second Warriors player to be retroactively assessed a flagrant foul during the postseason.
