The 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors were named recipients of the “Best Analytics Organization” award at the 2016 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, MA, earlier today. The award, which was accepted by Basketball Operations Coordinator Kent Lacob and Basketball Analytics Coordinator Sammy Gelfand, featured a total of four nominees, including the Warriors, Chicago Blackhawks, Houston Astros and FC Midtjylland. General Manager Bob Myers, who also attended the conference, was part of a distinguished panel that discussed the importance of analytics in sports prior to the announcement of the award.
“We’re extremely appreciative and proud to receive this award,” said Myers.
