Warriors’ Curry, Durant named co-Western Conference Players of the Month

The Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have been named the Kia NBA Western Conference Players of the Month for January, the league announced Thursday.

This marks the first time two Golden State teammates have shared the honor and the ninth time a Warriors player has earned it since the NBA started awarding it in the 1979-80 season.

Curry, who owns a franchise-record six Player of the Month honors, averaged 27.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in January. He was markedly more aggressive, thriving in pick-and-roll situations and shooting 47.
