Stephen Curry, walking through the locker room about an hour before Sunday’s Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, was asked about the Chronicle photo showing 14-year-old Draymond Green rocking a large Afro haircut.
“That was unbelievable,” Curry said.
As you might imagine, Green’s teammates had fun with the photo, which accompanied a Mother’s Day piece on him, Curry and Kevin Durant and their close relationships with their moms. The photo made the rounds in the team’s group text Sunday morning, launching the good-natured grief.
Warriors players obviously were focused on their impending game against the Spurs, but they all had seen the shot of young Green and his wild hair.
