NBA fines Steve Kerr $25,000 for ‘verbally and confronting a game official’

The NBA fined Warriors coach Steve Kerr $25,000 on Thursday for what the league called “verbally and confronting a game official” during Wednesday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Kerr became upset with official Ken Mauer after he gave Draymond Green a Flagrant Foul 1 on Portland center Zach Collins with the Warriors trailing, 110-103, with 3:54 remaining. After the play was reviewing, Kerr yelled out a string of expletives toward Mauer and also slammed his clipboard. Mauer gave Kerr a technical immediately. Then, Kerr hurled his right arm and screamed at Mauer some more. Mauer tossed him immediately.
