Kevin Durant recently went into detail about why he chose a red velvet cupcake look for his newest Nikes.
“I just wanted to show everybody that it came from me,” KD told BuzzFeed, “and I’m still the same person I was before I made the decision.”
The Warriors star shared his motivation for including a style that throws shade at Thunder fans who razzed Durant with cupcake jokes aplenty after he left for Golden State.
“My favorite memory of red velvet was being called a cupcake every time I touched the ball in Oklahoma City — that was fun,” Durant said in a BuzzFeed video on Instagram.
