OAKLAND -- With a chance to issue a challenge on the eve of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Spurs, Stephen Curry did not hesitate.
The Warriors point guard and the league’s preeminent 3-point marksman was asked Saturday about San Antonio’s tendency -- often exhibited in the conference semifinal against Houston -- to keep its big men in the paint in the pick-and-roll, even when faced with 3-point shooting threats.
“I hope they do that for us,” Curry said. “Please do it. Do it.”
This is about as close to a dare as you’ll get in the playoffs.
