Damian Lillard says Blazers must be ‘as sharp as possible’ late in games

TUALATIN, Ore. — Damian Lillard was so frustrated after Game 2 that, on his day off Wednesday, the Trail Blazers guard hardly wanted to see a basketball.

“I wasn’t even going to watch the playoff game until I heard Cleveland was hitting a bunch of threes,” Lillard said of the Cavaliers’ 25-point rout of Atlanta.

Such reticence was understandable. Tuesday night, at Oracle Arena, Lillard had powered Portland to an 11-point lead entering the fourth quarter. The Oakland native went scoreless the rest of the way as the Warriors used a 34-12 run to steal a 110-99 win.
