Technical Tidbits 5/26: Money in the Eubanks, WTen seeing double, a football thing, baseball! (is over)

Tennis ace Chris Eubanks is into the singles Sweet Sixteen after dropping Tulsa’s Or Ram-Harel in two sets yesterday afternoon. Eubanks fought through tough winds and a second set tiebreaker to become the first Yellow Jacket to advance this far since Guillermo Gomez in 2011. Eubanks will see a familiar face in his opponent: Texas’s Yuya Ito, whom Eubanks defeated in straight sets in last year’s ITA National Indoor Championships.

While Eubanks was busy tearing it up in the men’s singles bracket, the Jackets had double representation in the doubles bracket. (That’s two pairs. So.... quadruple representation?) Rasheeda McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud fell to six seeded Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi from Kentucky in a tiebreaker, but Paige Hourigan and Kenya Jones were victorious over the pairing of Anna Danilina and Ingrid Neel from Florida.
