Georgia Tech proposes change to ‘Ramblin’ Wreck’ fight song

A school spokeswoman says that a group of individuals has proposed to make slight changes to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets’ 107-year-old fight song ‘Ramblin’ Wreck,’ making it more inclusive of women.

Originally penned in 1908, the current lyrics read:

“Oh! If I had a daughter, sir, I’d dress her in White and Gold, And put her on the campus to cheer the brave and bold.”

This, of course, was before women were allowed admittance to the university, and to modernize the song the group would like to change cheer to join.
