What happened:

The Yellow Jackets started this season off with a nice win over the Alcorn State Braves. The Yellow Jackets put up over 400 yards on the ground and were led by Jordan Mason with 85-yards. Defensively, the Jackets got off to a great start in the Nate Woody era, keeping the Braves to just 146 yards of total offense. The Jackets did, however, have three turnovers in the game.

In retrospect:

In retrospect, the win still was a good win for the Yellow Jackets and Alcorn State put together a strong season following the loss.
