ATLANTA -- Jannis Koeke helped lead Georgia State to a Sun Belt Championship and NCAA Tournament bid Sunday to earn GSU Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines.
The senior clinched the 4-3 victory over the No. 2 seed South Alabama in the Sun Belt Championship Sunday afternoon, coming back from a 5-2 deficit in the third set to win the match. With the win, the Panthers claimed the program’s first Sun Belt title and NCAA Tournament bid since 2013.
Koeke had a 3-0 weekend, with two victories coming in the third set.
