Men’s Basketball Tops Louisiana for Hard-Fought League Win

LAFAYETTE, La. – Ike Smith tallied 28 points and seven rebounds, and Georgia Southern shot 59 percent in the second half to rally for a hard-fought 81-76 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball victory over Louisiana Saturday night in the Cajundome.

Georgia Southern's first win at Louisiana improves the Eagles to 4-0 in the Sun Belt, the Eagles' best start in league play since 1991-92.

Smith was 9 of 17 from the floor and made 8 of 11 from the free-throw line for Georgia Southern (11-6, 4-0). Tookie Brown collected 19 points and five assists, and Montae Glenn chipped in eight points and six rebounds.
