SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Georgia Southern football team held a historic practice Friday evening in Savannah as the Eagles practiced on the campus of Armstrong State University for the first time in program history.

In front of several hundred fans of both Georgia Southern and Armstrong State, the Eagles went through a spirited 90-minute practice before holding a fan fest for everyone in attendance. The practice was a light one as the Eagles were just in shoulder pads and helmets working on situations while focusing on learning periods.

When this practice was over, fans were invited onto the field as GS President Jaimie Hebert, ASU Interim President Jennifer Frum, GS Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein, Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach and football coach Tyson Summers spoke to the crowd, leading them in cheers and giving them important information on the upcoming season.
