NEW ORLEANS, La. – Georgia Southern women's basketball player Angel McGowan has been named to the Sun Belt All-Conference Second Team as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. The all-conference selections and individual award winners were chosen in a vote by the league's 11 coaches as well as media members covering the 11 teams.
McGowan, a junior guard from Greenville, S.C., is the first All-Sun Belt selection for the GS women's basketball program and picks up the honor just days after scoring her 1,000th-career point in Georgia Southern's season-finale at Louisiana-Lafayette.
