Florida residents may soon be able to purchase a University of Georgia license plate for their vehicles.
The Florida House of Representatives passed HB 1375 on Friday to allow the UGA plate to be added to the list of more than 120 specialty plates in the state. The bill must now be passed by the Florida Sentae.
State Rep. Travis Cummings, a Valdosta State graduate who previously served as president of the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville, drafted the bill.
The club itself also has created an initiative to have the state of Florida issue a University of Georgia license plate.
