There’s something about playing UGA that brings out the best of Steve Spurrier

South Carolina rolls into town for Saturday’s nationally televised showdown with No. 7 Georgia hardly looking like a team to fear.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, left, shakes hands with Georgia coach Mark Richt after their football game at Williams-Brice Stadium, Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, in Columbia, S.C. South Carolina won 17-6.

It is a fresh off a home loss to a Kentucky team that hadn’t won a road conference tilt since 2009. Starting quarterback, Connor Mitch, was released from a hospital early in the week after sustaining shoulder and hip injuries in that game, leaving former walk-on Perry Orth expected to step into that role for coach Steve Spurrier against the Bulldogs.
