SEC has 13 of top 25 highest-paid college football assistants

Nobody pays bigger money for assistant coaches than the SEC.

USA Today released its annual coaches salaries database Wednesday and 13 of the top 25 highest-paid coaches in college football were on a coaching staff in the conference.

Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and Ole Miss all were among the schools with the highest-paid coaches in the nation.

1. Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis: $1.558 million
3. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin: $1.4 million
