Justin Fields' attorney says NCAA waiver had 'nothing to do with racism'

Former Georgia quarterback Justin Fields was recently granted an NCAA waiver allowing him immediate eligibility at Ohio State.

Aiding Fields on his quest for eligibility was Thomas Mars, a well-known attorney in the world of college football, who was responsible for helping former Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson gain immediate eligibility when he transferred to Michigan.

Mars was successful in helping Patterson last offseason, and again with Fields this time around.

There was plenty of speculation that Fields and Mars leveraged the September 29th incident that saw a Georgia baseball player yell racial slurs to Fields from the stands in Sanford Stadium.
