Isaiah McKenzie likely out against Mizzou

Georgia Bulldogs return specialist Isaiah McKenzie is still dealing with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play against Missouri on Saturday. Seth Emerson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the update on McKenzie’s status.

McKenzie also missed last weekend’s game against Tennessee, though backup Reggie Davis did return a punt 70 yards for a touchdown. Despite that, McKenzie is a player who in his college career has returned 29 punts for 349 yards and three touchdowns and 14 kickoffs for 349 yards and a touchdown. McKenzie also has 11 catches for 156 yards.

That said, though not an integral member of the passing game, McKenzie is a significant enough contributor that in the long run, the lack of his presence on the field could be felt tremendously, especially since fellow special-teamer Sony Michel is now the starting running back in wake of star Nick Chubb’s season-ending knee injury.
