Kirby Smart’s original plan was to reserve two vans for his players to arrive at Camp Sunshine in.
This year, Smart needed to upgrade his travel arrangements.
In previous years, including last year, about 25 players volunteered to spend time with the Camp Sunshine campers, who are all battling cancer.
Smart gave his players the option. If they wanted to attend Camp Sunshine, they could do a team run at 6 a.m. If not, they could do the run in the afternoon. To his surprise, about 60 players elected to participate in the morning run so they could come to Camp Sunshine.
