Georgia holds 3rd spring practice in pads

The Bulldogs lost all three starting defensive linemen from a season ago, so the group has been closely scrutinized this spring. True freshman Julian Rochester has been given as many reps as possible and he was fourth among the linemen Thursday as they went through individual drills.

The first three in the group were senior John Atkins, sophomore Trenton Thompson and redshirt freshman Justin Young. Coach Kirby Smart also has mentioned sophomores Michael Barnett and DaQuan Hawkins as linemen who have done good things during the spring.

Numerous future Bulldogs have been at practice over the past couple of weeks, and tight end Charlie Woerner – who signed in February and will enroll this summer – attended Thursday’s workout along with running back Elijah Holyfield; Holyfield also will enroll this summer.
