The last time I was inside Jacksonville’s Everbank Field was the last time Georgia was here as well. That day, following a 27-3 loss to the Gators, was not the beginning of the end for Mark Richt as the Bulldogs’ head coach, as we would find out, it was the end.
A great deal of handwringing accompanied Richt’s ouster. Social media was flooded with fond memories of Georgia fans for Coach Richt, testimonials to the great man he was, cries of how the athletic department had sold its soul and lamentations of how nothing would ever be the same.
