Georgia 2017 commitment Richard LeCounte was named the male athlete of the year in the Savannah, Ga., area at the “Best of Preps” banquet Tuesday, which gave him a chance to meet former Bulldogs running back Todd Gurley.
Gurley was the keynote speaker at the event.
“I’m blessed to have the opportunity and proud to win this award,” LeCounte told the Savannah Morning News. “And being able to meet Todd Gurley made it even better because Dawgs run deep.”
LeCounte, a four-star safety from Riceboro (Ga.) Liberty County, committed to Georgia in December.
