Florida-Georgia game contract to be filed with city of Jacksonville

The new five-year contract extension to keep the annual Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville is set to be filed with the city. This is being reported by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

The two schools agreed to the extension last March. It is being submitted to the city ahead of the final game on the current deal in 2017.

The new five-year contract will guarantee over $2.75 million in incentives over the life of the deal. The schools will receive $125,000 in a “signing bonus” and $250,000 for each October meeting.

The Gators and Bulldogs are also getting an increase of $10,000 to their travel and lodging stipend.
