The Georgia men’s basketball team can boast something that only 12 other programs nationally can.
It made the NCAA tournament and was in the top 10 percent in the sport in the latest Academic Progress Rate report.
Coach Mark Fox shrugged off his team being recognized by the NCAA for the work in the classroom for a 990 APR, a measure of graduation, eligibility and retention for each program’s scholarship athletes.
“That’s what we’re supposed to do,” said Fox, who said when he was hired by then president Michael Adams that improving the graduation rate was emphasized.
