Hoyas Rally to Take Lead Late, but Fall Short at Marquette, 88-87

WASHINGTON - Senior guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) hit a pull-up jumper with 5.3 seconds left to give Georgetown the lead, but Marquette hit a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds left and the Hoyas lost, 88-87, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee Tuesday night.

Sophomore forward Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, N.C./Brewster Academy {N.H.]) scored a career-high 32 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Hoyas. Smith-Rivera finished with 16 points, a career-high nine assists and eight rebounds, while freshman Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md.
