Georgetown’s Rally Falls Short as Hoyas Lose to No. 5 Duke, 86-84, in 2K Classic

NEW YORK - Georgetown rallied from a nine-point deficit to pull within one point and had a jumper from sophomore forward Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, N.C./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) fall just short at the buzzer as the Hoyas lost to No. 5 Duke, 86-84, in the championship game of the 2K Classic at Madison Square Gardeh Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 1-3 overall while Duke improves to 4-1.

Copeland scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Hoyas, while senior guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) had 14 points, six assists and three rebounds, freshman forward Kaleb Johnson (South Hill, Va.
