FSU wearing Seminole Heritage uniforms for first time at Spring Showcase

Florida State football, after releasing their Seminole Heritage uniforms last year, is wearing them on the field for the first time during today’s Spring Showcase — albeit in a limited capacity, with the alternate-look jerseys serving as non-contact indicators rather than teamwide apparel.

An athletics department-wide tradition that has seen multiple teams wear turquoise, Florida State football premiered its version of them in September 2023 — though only the coaching staff wore turquoise-tinged clothing during the program’s first Seminole Heritage game against the Duke Blue Devils last season.

For those who are confused about the uniform combinations:
QBs/ Non-contact: Turquoise
Rest of the offense: White
Defense: Garnet— Jordan Silversmith (@jsilversmith24) April 20, 2024

FSU men’s basketball was the first program at the university to don the color scheme, debuting them in 2013 as part of Nike’s N7 line (a part of the N7 fund, created to assist Native American and Indigenous communities in establishing athletic spaces).
