FSU Student Government Passes Ban On Native American Headdresses During Games

After a decade in which Florida State University has been able to keep their Seminoles nickname in part due to a great working relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida at a time where other schools were forced to change their name, the school’s student government is going a step further to help keep relations on the good side.

FSU’s SGA passed a resolution on April 20th, which was made public on Tuesday, which prohibits the wearing of Native American headdresses by fans during sporting events on campus. The ban was voted on by 36 members, with 27 voting for it.
