Florida Panthers sign Owen Tippett to an entry-level deal

The Cats recent 10th overall pick (Owen Tippett), received his first NHL contract today. The signing will come as a basic three-year, entry-level deal. Dale Tallon wasted little time getting Owen signed up for his new team.

The 18-year-old had a remarkable year with the Mississauga Steelheads last season recording 75 points in 60 games played. Tippett finished off the playoffs with 10G, 9A and 19 points in 20 games played. Despite his team falling short, he was a significant reason as to why the Steelheads made it so far.

As Owen looks to settle in with his new club, GM Dale Tallon had some positive things to say about the youngster:
