SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that forward Kyle Rau has been assigned to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates.
The 23-year old Rau played in nine games with Florida this season and has played in 48 games with Portland recording 27 points (17-10-27). The 5-foot-8, 178-pound native of Eden Prairie, Minn., was originally drafted by Florida in the third round (91st overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
