MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (March 24, 2017) -- FIU freshman pitcher Shannon Saile (Land O'Lakes, Florida / Land O'Lakes HS) extended two streaks Friday night, as the Panthers defeated Middle Tennessee 3-0 at the Blue Raider Softball Field to begin a Conference USA weekend series.
Saile got the win to extend FIU to its program-record 14th-straight victory and she extended her personal streak to 25.1 innings without allowing an earned run in the complete-game, three-hit victory. It was her 10th complete game of the year and fourth complete-game shutout. She scattered those three hits and three walks, striking out eight.
