CORAL GABLES (Sept. 25, 2016) – The FIU women's tennis team took 12-of-13 singles matches and was a perfect 3-0 on the final day of the 2016 Miami Fall Invite on Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Miami.
The Panthers took on Florida Atlantic and Pittsburgh in singles play for a total of 13 matches, resulting in 12 victories. FIU swept the Owls (6-0) and took 6-of-7 matches versus Pitt. FIU also swept FAU in doubles action as Andrea Lazaro and Nina Nagode defeated Laura Fabrizi and Ana Gutierrez, 6-3, Gabriela Ferreira and Mina Markovic downed Lyndsey Boos and Kaitlyn Walker, 6-1, and Ulyana Grib and Maryna Veksler topped Naiya Oden and Marisa Ruiz, 6-1.
