UF's Cleveland pleads no contest, gets probation

Florida wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland pleaded no contest to criminal mischief Friday.

Judge Walter M. Green withheld adjudication and sentenced him to six months of probation, according to court records online.

Cleveland entered the plea as part of the agreement. He must pay restitution of $979.80 and pay court costs of $276.

Cleveland and true freshman wide receiver Rick Wells were originally charged with felonies for firing a BB gun into a dorm on campus in July. The charges were reduced to first-degree misdemeanor criminal mischief earlier this month.

Wells signed a deferred prosecution agreement with the State Attorney's Office last week and agreed to similar sanctions as Cleveland.
