Despite the glaring need to replace Kelvin Taylor in the backfield, Florida running backs Jordan Cronkrite and Jordan Scarlett don’t consider themselves to be competing against each other for the starting nod.
Instead, they’re focused on pushing the other to get better.
Because in this league, a lack of depth in the backfield can be a death sentence for teams.
“It's the SEC. It just takes hits off of each other,” Cronkrite said. “We all compliment each other.”
Following a season where the pair of freshmen factored into UF’s rotation, the Gators have taken a “by-committee” approach to the running back position throughout spring practice.
