High school football in Florida: It just means more 1st-rounders (usually)

California, Florida and Texas annually produce the most FBS signees. California and Texas help up their end in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft. Florida, not so much.

For the first time since 2009, no Florida high school product was taken in the first round of the draft. There were four players who attended Texas high schools and three who went to high school in California. There also were four players who went to high school in Ohio. But no Floridians.

Still, even without a first-round pick this year, Florida high schools still lead the nation this decade in most first-rounders produced, with 34.
