Gators hit last-second 3-pointer in OT, advance to Elite Eight

NEW YORK — Chris Chiozza’s 3-pointer with the clock running down sent the Florida Gators into Sunday’s East Region final, sealing an 84-83 overtime victory against Wisconsin on Friday night.

The shot set off a Gator celebration on the Madison Square Garden floor and kept the No. 4-seeded Gators alive to face SEC counterpart South Carolina, one step away from the NCAA Tournament’s Final Four.

Zak Showalter tried to shoot down the Gators with a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left in regulation that sent the game into overtime and it seemed to be a crushing blow.
