Recruiting “season” is upon us, and with that a reminder to fans that not every four- and five-star prospect will pan out and that some lower-rated guys will turn into studs.
Recruiting very much can be a crapshoot, and projecting 17- and 18-year-old athletes is not an easy task.
Here’s a look at an unheralded prospect in each Florida recruiting class from 2010-16 who has turned into a high-level player.
2010: ATH Trey Burton, Venice (Fla.) High
The skinny: Burton was a quarterback in high school but did not project to that position in college.
