Florida continues early jump in 2019 recruiting with commitment from S Trent Whittemore

As things stand now, Florida’s 2019 recruiting class appears to be in good shape.

The Gators received their latest commitment in the class Sunday from safety Trent Whittemore, who announced his decision on Twitter.

“I want to thank The Lord for his hand in blessing me with opportunities this spring to several great universities,” Whittemore wrote. “Although it’s been a bit of a whirlwind recruitment process, through prayer and conversation with my family I believe I know the next step Jesus has for my life.

“That being said, I’m excited to say I’ve committed to the University of Florida #swamp19”

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Whittemore, a Gainesville, Florida native who attends Buchholz High School, picked the hometown Gators over offers from South Alabama and Troy.
