Florida Atlantic held its third spring practice of the year on Saturday behind the Tom Oxley Athletic Center. It was the first practice the Owls wore pads for.
On Tuesday and Thursday, FAU practiced in helmets and shorts.
Here are some observations from Saturday in the 10 minutes viewable by the media:
-- The Owls wasted no time after stretch to use the pads, going directly into a ball security drill. A section of practice matched up one receiver against two defensive backs, with the receiver catching a ball and turning upfield while two defensive backs try to rip the ball out.
