When Florida Atlantic fired coach Charlie Partridge on Sunday, it ended a chapter of Owls football history, but also marked the beginning of an important stretch on the college football calendar: the recruiting contact period.
From Sunday until Dec. 11, coaches can conduct meetings with recruits (often in their homes or at their high schools), either to reassure current commitments or attract new prospects to the school. Despite Partridge's dismissal, FAU assistant coaches are still out meeting with recruits during this period.
